Troy’s traditional lands are in Ngalkbon country, near Mountain Valley Station. His traditional language is Ngalkbon, but he speaks Kriol.
Troy lives at Barunga. His father was Christopher Friday and his mother was Christine James.
In recent years, Troy has been assisting Flinders University with collecting data. He has experience in the areas of rock art and recording information about graves.
Previously he worked in the country near the Mary River ranger station. He was looking after the Bolmo lands for his family who live at Werenbun. This was ranger work, mostly looking after rock art sites.
